Žernosecké or also Píšťanské lake is an artificial lake with an area of about 90 h on the right bank of the river Elbe right below the hill Radobýl. On the far left bank of the Elbe is the town Lovosice. This body of water was created in the 50s and 60s of the 20th century by flooding of a former sand quarry. The local sand was used for the construction of large dams on the Vltava river, especially Slaps Dam and Eagle Lake.
