Near Libochovice is situated one of the greatest dominant feature of the Czech central mountains. The ruin of castle Hazmburk of the 13th century. The castle is open to public in april+ October from 10Am to 5PM and from May to September from Tuesday to Sunday from 10AM to 6PM.
3.5 km northwest of Libochovice near the village Klapý on a basalt hill are the ruins of Hazmburk. Házmburk (German Hasenburg), sometimes Klapý, is a relatively well-preserved ruin of a castle from the 13th century. Of the castle survived two stone towers, that are one of the unmistakable landmarks of the Natural Park of Lower Poohří. White tower with an impressive height of 26 m is open to the public and offers fantastic views of the Czech Central Mountains. You can see also the mythical mountain Říp, castle ruins Košťálov, Oltářík and Bezděz. Admission to the castle is charged. Visitors can purchase snacks and souvenirs.
