Information center in Mírové náměstí in Litoměřice is the entrance for visit of the “Chalice house”. The Chalice was built in 16th century for Mráz family. From the tower is beautiful view of a town Litoměřice, castle Hazmburk, Říp hill etc.

The history of “Chalice house”
Late gothic house from first half of 16th century. Between 1570-80 was the house  rebuilt to renaissance style by Mr. Ambrosio Balli. The owners of the house was a rich Mráz family from Milešovka. Their coat of arms is carved at entrance portal and shown at a frontage in a yard. Later, salt office was in this place.
In 1655 this house became a property of a town. Internal modifications come from 1695. In 1834, Chalice house underwent extensive reconstruction and the Renaissance shields were taken down  (similar to house the "Black Eagle") and were replaced by empire style facade. In 1877, first local museum was placed here. The house was originally called "Under the Dome" according to an observation tower (having a shape of chalice). This shape had to express a love of the owners to the local winemaking landscape. Until now it is used as a symbol of the city.

Today's appearance comes from the years 1950 to 1955. The house is a seat of the municipal office and city information center.
