Gothic Castle Litomerice
In the time period from 1st January 2007 to 28th February 2010, there is the reconstruction in progress of the former gothic castle in Litomerice with a working title
“Sanctuary of the Czech viniculture”.

Before the construction there was a discussion about the future use of the object, applying for the grant, project documentation and archaeological works. As the result of all of this, it is going to be a multifunctional project. The revitalization of the castle “court” will be also part of the project as well as a reconstruction of the object nr. 68. In the following lines we will introduce to you the castle the way, as it will be thematically and functionally divided.

Exposition of the Czech viniculture
There is also the modern kind of an exposition, which will allow you to experience the topic of the viniculture, from many different perspectives. It will also amusingly present the development of the viniculture in relation to time order. Here will be also used inter-active facilities for the wine presentation, audiovisual games, projection, mechanical 3D models und functional objects. Exposition will guide you through the viniculture from the ancient history, the Middle Ages and the modern period up to the viniculture of the 20th and 21st century.
Tasting rooms for the wine presentation
The inside space with the original paving stone floor and vaulted ceilings, followed by cellarage where will be situated the wine archive. In testing rooms will be either testing (controlled) or combined testing connected with the presentation of the cultivation and production of wine in Czech with the possibility of tasting the traditional Czech wine varieties and wine marks.
Capacity: 20 seats + space at the bar for standing only.
Wine archive
In cellarages of the gothic castle there will be a wine archive with the possibility of storing valuables wines for the public and also for the company clientele.
Conference hall
There is the modernly equipped conference hall with preserved gothic artifacts. The original gothic windows are dominating to the hall and several niches will be used as a space for sitting. Attractive space of the conference hall will enable organizing of congresses, banquets, concerts, dancing balls or fashion shows.
The foyer is connected to exposition rooms of the gothic castle and the around castle tour will be possible to use as the accompanying program.
Capacity of the conference hall: max. 180 people
Lounge with the gothic chapel
Attractive representative rooms are connected with the historical monument of 14th century, where has stayed also Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor, during his visits of the gothic castle.
Capacity: 13 seats, 11 places on the gallery (for standing or sitting)
Sheltered workshop
In the building on the castle courtyard of the gothic castle you will find the sheltered workshop, offering products of the local production. By buying these products you can support charity projects.
